Yes, the cat is out of the bag….as they say. There has been some press released about me this morning, saying I will be performing in NYC at the YAMA KIPPI YAY BO Art exhibit and it’s COMPLETELY TRUE! I will be performing monologues from the show SEX AND THE CITY, specifically Kim Cattral’s character, Samantha. Samantha’s MONOLOGUE STATION will premiere on May 5th in BROOKLYN New York and it’s super exciting. Come see us, THNK1994.com for tickets & details. So far, our story has been picked by Mic Magazine, Out Magazine, & BULLET MAGAZINE.
SO, I jumped… I put myself out there. Made a YouTube video announcing I would be doing a weekly episode recap show called THE LOWDOWN WITH LIAN. Received complimentary feedback by very unexpected but professional entertainment colleagues. So, it’s exciting in general. Excited to throw myself in the line of fire, excited to showcase myself, and excited to show that after being in a “dry spell” for a good minute, anyone can brush themselves off and TRY AGAIN.

After experimenting with all sorts of hair colors, losing 8 lbs, gaining 10 lbs…. I just showed up to set for my new Head-Shots. Showing up to set with no make up & without any hair product on was a first….my shoot was natural. 100%. I would like to thank Brian & Ashley Haden for the photography. They did amazing! This is me now. They captured that. Scary isn’t it? haha.

So, lately, with the way the industry is changing and continuing to change…. the realities of the roles that are available to me are very small. Even the ones that are out there…. I don’t ever see (no access) or I’m not seen for them. I really hate feeling like I’m failing… but the truth is I wanna be myself and not play someone else. I, myself, am a personality- and I need to bank on that. I need to kind of explore the options around the entertainment business that are out there like, Reality TV. I love BRAVO and I would love to be on a BRAVO show, but again, I need the shot….a chance, an audition, a meeting. Bravo would be a great platform. Whether, the show was about me & my ventures into this business or a show about my friends. Were talking 20 year friendships. Bravo even uses my tweets! So, that’s the next step… that’s what I’m currently putting my energy into. Along with making my own content, working out and seeking new opportunities/representation. Check out my tweet below on The Real Housewives of New York City.
Bucket List check off…. I finally did Cinespia! I loved it! Cinespia is a movie watching event that is located at the Hollywood Cementary under the stars! (Literally) It was a pretty magical LA night… we saw E.T. (Extra Terrestrial) ate some candy and we sat next to Ethan Embry. It’s pretty crowded because people because show up very early to snag a great spot but it’s super worth it and the line moves fairly quickly. Overall, it’s a great mix of good-looking young people and modern families. The photo booth is pretty special….they always go all out so make sure to get a photo! (there’s always a line) Watching such a great movie under the hollywood stars was a great experience… loved hearing the audience react to the film and even credits… making it very clear, it’s a Los Angeles Audience: filled with people who make movies, star in them, shoot them, edit them, score them, rate them, and so on… love this town, love my home. I love LA.
It’s been pretty exciting lately- even though I’m watching from the sidelines. The tone is changing for the better… we are not just being looked at for gangster roles, the guy robbing a store, the tone is actually changing to Mainstream Comedy (my dream) especially with shows like Jane the Virgin & Telenovela coming up on NBC. (with my good friend, Jose Moreno Brooks) I’m eager to jump back in, get back on the saddle-but Very Proud of my Friends. All of you. (you know who you are)
